How to Lose Your Loose Skin

Thermacell Murray, UTThe Rolling Stones said it right in their 1969 release of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” And as you age, you start to notice that you can’t always get what you want your body to do— especially when it comes to the health and appearance of your skin. If you have started to experience loose or sagging skin, Dr. Dunkley at Envision Cosmetic Surgery can help tighten it and make sure that you, for once, really get what you want.

How Is Skin Tightened?

Here at Envision Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Dunkley can tighten your skin cells from the inside out with a procedure called Thermacell. By using radio frequency technology, Thermacell works to heat up the skin to a depth of 2.5mm. Once heated up, results are twofold: toxins are excreted by the body, and the heat encourages your body to naturally heal itself which produces new, skin tightening collagen.

What Is the Treatment Session Like?

One of the unique benefits of Thermacell is that it’s fairly relaxing. To start out, we will apply a gel to your skin, and then a hand piece which emits radiofrequency energy will be rubbed over the treatment area. During each 30-60 minute session, your skin will be warmed to 45 degrees celsius— a temperature that will properly stimulate the collagen in the skin.

What Are Results Like?

To get the best results possible, Dr. Dunkley recommends multiple treatments per week with six treatments being ideal. However, after just one treatment, patients notice a significant improvement in the tightness of their skin.

What Is Recovery Like?

Because Thermacell is non-invasive, recovery is easy breezy. For the first few hours after treatment, we encourage our patients to avoid icing the skin or participating in cold outdoor activities— the longer the skin is warm, the better.
