Silicone gel implants are already filled before insertion, so the incision will need to be larger than for saline implants. Technological advances have made this medical-grade silicone gel more cohesive, so if you have a leak, the gel should stay within the shell. You won’t know if the implant ruptures, which is why you will have to have regular check-ups with your surgeon to make sure they are intact.
