How to Keep Your Immune System Healthy During the Holidays
- Posted on: Dec 15 2017
The holidays are all about spending time with family and friends, staying up late night chatting, and maybe even indulging in a few of your favorite sweet treats every day. However, all of that can fun, and excitement can suddenly come to a halt if you get a cold or another virus. And, with cold and flu season in full-swing, you are at more of a risk this time of year.
Get Regular Vitamin Infusions
If you want to jumpstart your metabolism, consider getting some vitamin infusions from Dr. Benjamin Dunkley’s office. Vitamin Infusions are a type of IV therapy that are pumped with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids which help to support a healthy immune system. Each vitamin infusion session is about 30-45 minutes long and can be done by either Dr. Benjamin Dunkley himself or by one of his nurses.
Drink More Water
One of the easiest and best things you can do for your body— whether it’s cold season or not— is to drink more water. Water is a great way to keep you hydrated and flush any viruses out of your system faster. Try to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day— especially before the holiday parties start to take place.
Get Enough Sleep
Even though you may have a ton of fun holiday activities and events that you want to get to, try to take care of yourself and make sure that you are getting enough sleep every night. On average, try to get at least eight hours of sleep each night which will help you fight off any viruses or bugs.
Head into the holiday season feeling rested, rejuvenated, and healthy by getting regular vitamin infusions, drinking more water, and getting enough sleep each night. If you want to learn more about vitamin infusions or if you want to schedule an appointment, contact our Murray office today!
