At Envision Cosmetic Surgery we have many Salt Lake City patients concerned about loose skin. This curse of aging happens because we lose elastin and elasticity in our skin. Most solutions involve surgical removal of loose skin with incisions optimally placed to be as hidden as possible. However, some locations don’t allow incisions to be hidden. Fortunately, a new standard for tightening skin has arrived. This standard is FaceTite and BodyTite.
The FaceTite and BodyTite device uses radiofrequency energy to precisely heat the skin to achieve significant skin tightening. The sophisticated hand piece has two parts, one above the skin and one below, that measure the temperature in both locations throughout the treatment. The energy is delivered between the two points, heating the skin to the exact desired temperatures for maximal skin tightening.

How does FaceTite and BodyTite work?
FaceTite and BodyTite use radiofrequency energy to heat the skin causing skin contracture or tightening. Radiofrequency tightening has been employed by others before including Thermage, Thermacell, and Pelleve to name a few. Though the energy type is not new, the delivery method is extremely unique with real-time temperature measurement and very precise energy delivery.
How is FaceTite and BodyTite performed?
The procedures can be performed under sedation with skin numbing, or when asleep. If a single area is being treated, patients are happy with minimal sedation and skin numbing. If multiple procedures are being performed, the patient is usually asleep for the procedure. After treating the intended area, liposuction is performed for additional contouring.
How does FaceTite and BodyTite differ from liposuction?
FaceTite and BodyTite differ from liposuction in the amount of potential skin tightening. Some areas such as the abdomen, knees and jowls will become smaller after liposuction, but leave loose wrinkled skin behind. Instead of suggesting a tummy tuck or simply having nothing to offer, FaceTite and BodyTite treatment may be possible for previously un-treatable areas.
What is recovery like after FaceTite or BodyTite?
Expect some pain where FaceTite or BodyTite is performed. The pain and soreness are most notable the first 2-3 days. There will also be swelling and minor to significant bruising. Compression is worn after the procedure for two to four weeks. The final results aren’t present until two to four months after your procedure.
How do I know if I am a good candidate for FaceTite and/or BodyTite?
If you have an area that is bigger than you want or where the skin is looser than you’d like, FaceTite or BodyTite could be for you. You need to be relatively healthy and consult with Dr. Dunkley. For larger size reduction, he may suggest liposuction as the best option. He may suggest a combination of procedures. The best way to know what will work for you is to come for a consult at Envision Cosmetic Surgery.
